“And the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud

was more painful than the risk it took to blossom.”

Anaïs Nin

In the Office of Leadership, Education, and Development, there is an emphasis on core values. Our core values dictate our actions. Our actions determine how we lead.

One of my core values, as I discovered during my time at LeaderShape, is growth. I am always striving to learn more, do more, be more. Every day, I would like to be able to say that I am better than the person I was before. This does not mean that I need to have an epiphany every day or am restricted from a lack of progress. It means that, every day, I should learn something. I should do something for others. I should gain something I didn’t have yesterday. To me, that it growth. To me, that is essential.
